Disposer Care

The ritual is familiar: after a family meal at home, the kitchen sink collects dirty dishes and scraps are rinsed down the garbage disposer’s ‘black hole’.  After the dishes are rinsed, washed and put away, the disposer is activated with a noisy grind, and the kitchen clean up is done.  Although most of us don’t give much thought to the care and cleaning of the disposer, research has shown that most homemakers consider the disposer to be a foul place, full of grunge and a source for odors.

Summit Brands developed Disposer Care as a convenient way to clean and deodorize the garbage disposer.  Packets inside the carton are thrown into the disposer to foam away residues that cause odors.  It’s easy to imagine that you weren’t aware you had a disposer cleaning problem until you saw this product---and it’s more effective than home remedies.

Summit asked Dean to develop new graphics for the Disposer Care package that clearly conveyed the product proposition.  The brand name certainly conveys the product use but the bright colors (blue for ‘clean’; yellow for ‘lemon scent’), the familiar image of the disposer and the ‘foaming action’ together convey a contemporary and effective solution for the odiferous grunge lurking in garbage disposers.
